Must Do Canada South Okanagan Visit

The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association, Travel Penticton, and Destination Osoyoos, and Tourism Oliver would like to welcome you to the South Okanagan, a year round destination you won’t forget.

Penticton is located between two lakes with nearly 15 acres of beaches. Known for outdoor activities and agriculture. Boasts 80+ wineries, 8 craft breweries, 2 cideries, and 3 distilleries near downtown.

Osoyoos is surrounded by grasslands, highlands, and mountains. Home to Canada’s warmest lake. Offers year-round attractions and seasonal beauty.

Oliver is Canada’s Wine Capital, producing 50% of BC’s wine grapes. Features numerous wineries, from family estates to large operations. Offers diverse food options from snacks to international flavours showcasing local ingredients.

Itinerary Snapshot:

  • Day 1: Arrive in Penticton, check into Best Western Inn, and enjoy dinner at Barley Mill.

  • Day 2: Explore Penticton with breakfast at Wayne and Freda, then head to Velo Volt e-bike rental and explore Kettle Valley Rail Trail to Naramata Bench, lunch at Brodo Kitchen, and dinner at Sushi Genki.

  • Day 3: Ski at Apex Mountain Resort, and have lunch at Gunbarrel Saloon, a skate at Apex Skating Loop, and dine back down in Penticton at Neighbourhood Brewing.

  • Day 4: Drive to Oliver, and enjoy a breakfast at a local favourite Bear’s Den, before visiting Vaseux Lake Bird Sanctuary. After spend the afternoon at District Wine Village tasting wines, and a lunch at the restaurant catered by Nk’Mip. Head over to Firehall Brewing before having dinner at Miradoro.

  • Day 5: Back to skiing at Baldy Mountain Resort with lunch at Baldy Bar. Then after working up an appetite snowshoeing, and dine at The Bear, the Fish, the Root & the Berry.

  • Day 6: Breakfast will be at JoJo’s Cafe, followed by a tour Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre and a tasting at Nk’Mip Cellars. After lunch at Rooster Mafia Foods, enjoy a relaxation massage at Levia Wellness Spa, and dinner at 15 Park Bistro in Watermark Beach Resort.

  • Day 7: The last breakfast will be at Junction 3 Cafe, and you can pick up snacks at Petrasek Bakery before returning the rental car at Penticton Airport and flying out.
