2024 Cross Country Ski Adventure

The Thompson Okanagan region is situated on the traditional, unceded territory of three Interior Salish nations: the Syilx, Secwépemc, and Nlaka'pamux peoples where we are honoured to live, work, and play. The parts of the Thompson Okanagan you will be traveling within is on the land of the Syilx peoples. The Thompson Okanagan, a region that is filled with diverse climates of tall mountains, rolling hills, raging rivers, peaceful lakes, a dry desert, and a temperate rainforest. Here, you will find year round activities that are suitable for thrill seekers, leisure travelers, and everyone in between. Enjoy over 120 welcoming communities, including: 33 Indigenous communities, “Canada’s smallest city,” quaint and quirky villages, and larger urban centres each featuring an incredible selection of local and Indigenous artisans, delicious farm-to-table restaurants, and both historic and cultural attractions.

While in Kelowna, Check out our energetic downtown and beautiful waterfront boardwalk. Go on a tour of the many local Okanagan wineries, restaurants, craft breweries, cideries, and distilleries. Hit the trails by bike, visit the historic Myra Canyon Trestles, or hike to the top of a mountain. Relax by the lake at one of the many beaches or take to the water for endless lake activities. Nearly a century later, the same spirit is championing a thriving destination resort on the cusp of its next chapter.

Itinerary Snapshot:

  • Day 1: Arrive at SilverStar Mountain Resort enjoy some cross country skiing before checking into SnowBird Lodge. Lunch at Pizza Gratta will be followed by endless activities offered by SilverStar.

  • Day 2: Enjoy breakfast at Bugaboos Bakery and Cafe, then spend the morning cross country skiing at Sovereign Lake Nordic Club, don’t forget a packed lunch! Dinner will be served at D'Argento.

  • Day 3: Start the morning off at Town Hall for breakfast and fuel up for another day of cross country skiing this time at SilverStar Resort. Then, enjoy a hosted lunch with Destination SilverStar at Long John's Pub. Enjoy some free time before your last dinner at Black Pine.

  • Day 4: Check out from SnowBird Lodge and have breakfast at breakfast at Chute Five. Leave for Kelowna and enjoy the day at Kelowna Nordic with the option to walk or cross country ski along the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. Check in at Coast Capri Hotel and get ready for lunch at El Taquero downtown, followed by dinner at Krafty Kitchen + Bar.

  • Day 5: The morning can be spent at Bright Jenny's before a day of Nordic skiing at Telemark Nordic Club. After, dinner will be hosted at Bernie's with TOTA.

  • Day 6: Check out of your accommodations and enjoy breakfast at Sunny's before departing.
